divaso judaai na jaaye chhe
days of separation are passing by
din judaai ke jaa(beet) rahe hai

ey jashe jaroor milan sudhi
they will definitely lead to meeting
yeh jaayenge zaroor milan tak

maaro haath jhaali ne lai jashe
will take me (there) holding my hand

mera haath thaamkar le jaayenge

mujh shatruo j swajan sudhi
my enemies, to my loved one
mere dushman hi mere apno tak

maaro haath jhaali ne lai jashe

will take me (there) holding my hand
mera haath thaamkar le jaayenge

(na dharaa sudhi na gagan sudhi
not til the earth, not til the sky
nahin dharaa (dharti) tak, nahin gagan (aasmaan) tak

nahi unnati naa patan sudhi) (2)
not til the downward fall of progress
nahin unnati ke patan tak

faqat aapNe to javu hatu
we only wanted to go

sirf hum ko to jaana tha

arre ek-mek naa mann sudhi
oh! til eachothers’ minds
arre ek-doosre ke man tak

maaro haath jhaali ne lai jashe

will take me (there) holding my hand
mera haath thaamkar le jaayenge

(tame raank naa chho ratan samaa
you are like jewel for the poor
aap gareeb ke ratno jaise

na maLo ey aansuo dhooL maa) (2)
oh tears dont get mixed with the dust
na milo aye aansuo dhool mein

jo araj kabool ho aatli
if you accept this request

agar araj kubool ho itni

to hriday thi jaao nayan sudhi
then go from heart to the eyes
to hriday se jaao nain tak

maaro haath jhaali ne lai jashe

will take me (there) holding my hand
mera haath thaamkar le jaayenge

(tame raaj-raaNi naa cheer sam
you are like beautiful clothes of the queen
aap raaj-raani ke vastr jaise

ame rank naar ni chundaDi) (2)
we are (i am) a scarf of poor woman
hum gareeb naari ki chunari

tame tan pe raho ghaDi-be-ghaDi
you stay on body for a moment or two

aap tan pe raho ghadi-do ghadi

ame saath daiye kafan sudhi
we accompany til the coffin
hum saath de kafan tak

maaro haath jhaali ne lai jashe

will take me (there) holding my hand
mera haath thaamkar le jaayenge

(jo hriday ni aag vadhi Gani
if the fire of heart becomes fierce(Gani Dahiwala = the poet of this poem)
agar hriday ki aag badh gayi Gani

to khud ishwarey j krupa kari) (2)
then it is a blessing from God
to khud ishwar ne hi yeh kripa kee

koyi shwaas bandh kari gayu
someone stopped my breathing and left

koi saans bandh kar gaya

ke pawan na jaaye agan sudhi
so no wind reaches the fire
ke pawan na jaaye agni tak

maro haath jhaali ne lai jashe

will take me (there) holding my hand
mera haath thaamkar le jaayenge

mujh shatruo j swajan sudhi
my enemies, to my loved one
mere dushman hi mere apno tak

maaro haath jhaali ne lai jashe
will take me (there) holding my hand
mera haath thaamkar le jaayenge
