From the movie ‘Hanste Zakhm’ (1973), this song is composed by the great Madan Mohan and lyrics penned by Kaifi Azmi. Very few songs in the 70s had such a balanced scope for Lyricist, Composer and Singer/s. (more…)

(Suraiya’s Journey With Rafi)

Mohd Rafi

Mohd Rafi

Between 1948 and 1958, Mohammed Rafi Saab had sung over 25 memorable duets with Suraiya. Probably, the first ever Rafi-Suraiya duet was “Taron Bhari Raat Hai Par Tu Kahan” in Film:Kajal-1948, composed by Ghulam Mohammed. Incidentally, Suraiya is known to have sung only for herself and only in Films wherein she was the heroine. (more…)

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

This article is written by Mr. H.V.Guru Murthy

Mohd RafiMohammed Rafi Saab was very much at ease while singing any type of songs. He used to sing all types of songs effortlessly as usual maintaining the melody and his forte, throw of words. Whenever there are situations in our Films when the hero is betrayed by the Heroine, usually our Heroes sing songs wishing the heroine all the best and also narrate how they would sacrifice their love for the sake of her. But, as I recollect, there are two rare songs sung by Rafi Saab, where the hero expresses his hatred for his lady love for betraying him and the songs have hatred or Nafrat as the main theme. This article is written by Ms. Asha.

Mohd Rafi's Jalwo WaqtAisa ghazal woh gaate rahe, aur hum sunte rahe. Truly, there are some songs that make you just stop and force you to pay attention. Ghazals belong to an era long gone by. The intensity and pure mastery required for this ghazals are sadly not present in today’s music. Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

This article is written by Ms. Asha specially for: Ishq Karne Walon Ke Liye.

Ishq Ki GarmiyeWhat do boys in love do nowadays to profess their love? Even for those who claim they are in love, time and money are too important and they wait for a chance when they are free. Well, no one said that girls were easy and though diamonds are a girl’s best friend, they go weak in the knees when someone opts for something truly romantic. (more…)
