Tribute to a Legend

The one and only shagird of our mentor Mohamed Rafi Saheb, popular Playback Singer of the Sixties and Seventies, Padamshree Mahendra Kapoor, winner of 3 Filmfare Awards, as well as the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, who shot into fame in 1958, with the chartbuster hit Aadha Hai Chandrama, Raat Aadhi ( Navrang ) was honoured posthumously with the Rafi Memorial Award 2008. Concieved, scripted and executed by Founder President Ruhi Khan, the Rafi Lovers Circle hosted a grand musical concert in memory of the noble singer, who passed away on Sept 27, 2008. (more…)

On 17.08.08, BAAR BAR RAFI fan club held it’s first program RAFI NITE INTENSE AT Chowdiah Hall, Bangalore. The event was a huge success. This report is contributed by Mr. H.V.Guru Murthy.

BAAR BAAR RAFI, a Fan Club of Mohammed Rafi in Bangalore arranged a musical evening dedicated to the memory of the legendary Singer with divine voice at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bangalore on Sunday, 17th of August from 6 pm to 10 pm. The four hour show was sponsored by M/s. Alliance Eldorado Park. The huge Hall was packed much before the commencement of the program and many enthusiastic fans had to be turned away due to non-availability of seats. (more…)

Saturday Night Rafi Fever At Sion - It's Part IVMOHD RAFI centric singers will test their singing skills, singing gems from the store-house of two legendary composers of the hfm : Roshan and Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Rafi lovers are expected to attend in full strength and lap up the gems on offer "live" at the Naushad Hall in Mumbai’s central district – Sion on June 14, from 6.30 p.m. onwards. RAFI FOUNDATION will host a musical evening of Mohd Rafi’s rare and popular numbers live at the Naushad Hall on April 12th. Every second saturday of the month Rafi Foundation host the live musical with eminent people who worked with Mohd Rafi attending the event and singing the maestro’s songs. The guest singers this Saturday includes : M/s.Madhubala Jhaveri (playback singer), Padmakar Shivalkar (leg-spinner and singer) Dr. Hebbar, Javed shakeel badayuni, ACP Syed Mobin, Kakaji Naushad, Sheel Kumar Sharma, Pallavi & Raghav.
