Mohd Rafi
The awesome and brilliant combination of the lyricists and music directors of the era gone by, rendering compositions on versatile playback singer and genius, Rafi Sahab, have given to us and for generations to come, almost permanent melodies for a life time, with depth and unimaginable musical vibrations. Each and every song of Rafi Sahab has that depth, emotion, and feeling and above all, often surpassed the expectations of the music directors in his renditions. (more…)

Mohd Rafi with Mehboob Khan, Roshan
Today I just happened to log on to my childhood memories and the great music director Roshan suddenly appeared in front of my memory screen with his ever joyful smile & that always happy and blushing cute face.
Roshan was one of those very rare composers with great confidence who indeed had fascinated me a lot in my early childhood days. His all-time evergreen song from the Rajashri Productions film Aarti titled — Rahe na rahe hum maheka karenge ban ke kalee ban ke fiza — by Lata Mangeshkar still fascinates me. (more…)

Mohd Rafi
Mohammed Rafi Saab has sung hundreds of songs to suit various moods like happy, sober, Bhazans, patriotic songs, qawalis, classical, ched-chad, Yahoo type, etc. A common man can always imagine a Rafi song while celebrating or wooing or on any other occasions when he gets excited. For example, as written by Mrs. Chandni in one of the earlier articles in the web site in December’ 2007, a person would feel like singing “Haye Tabassum Tera†to his beloved and in fact, his beloved would also be longing to listen to such songs. Similarly, a person can easily express his unlimited love while singing “Apni Aankhon Me Basakar†(THOKAR). (more…)

He needs no introduction nor does one have to extol the greatness he possessed. Millions still get mesmerized by the unadulterated mellifluous renderings, Mohammad Rafi has left behind. I often wonder, what would have happened, had phonographic system not been invented? Generations would have not marveled the great sounds of well cultivated voices and sought eternal pleasure out of them. It would be big loss. Music lovers miss out on Mian Tansen, Bach and Mozart but that’s history. (more…)
