Ay Mere Laadlo is a patriotic song originally composed by Naushad during the period of India’s war with China. The lyrics of the song is created by Khumar Barabankvi. This particular song is one of the nine songs included in the famous international album ‘The Last Journey of Mohammed Rafi’, a dedication to Mohammed Rafi by Naushad. The album is known as ‘Tere Sur Mere Geet’ in Hindi.
Mohammed Rafi will be remembered for his legendary contribution to Indian music. The duo Naushad and Rafi ruled the world of Hindustani music with their symbiotic association in music. Rafi had achieved the zenith of his career due to his association with Naushad. The golden era of Indian music had acquired a great many numbers from the duo when destiny approached Rafi in the form of death.

and bollywood came forward to raise a voice…..bollywood always chose
only two voices__rafi saab and lata tai
when gandhiji was assassinated bollywood came forward with this song
“suno suno ae duniya walon bapuji ki amar kahani…” sung by rafi saab.
when there was ‘indo-china war’ bollywood chose only and only rafi saab
to sing ‘ae mere ladlon…” and ‘awaz do hum ek hain…” and “apni azadi
ko hum hargiz mita sakte nahi…” etc
When nehru ji expired once again bollywood brought forward rafi saab
with this song___”meri awaz suno…pyar ka raaz suno…”
to remember the great martyres of our country bollywwod chose lata tai
to sing ‘Ae mere watan ke logon..zara aankh me bharlo pani…” and
rafi saab with the song__”Kar chale hum fida jan-o-tan sathiyon…”
there were so many other so-called great singers in bollywood…so
why nobody was remembered to do this sacred job ?
this proves the greatness and the essentiality of “great voices”.
only singing few popular songs does not prove a singer’s greatness.
we must see who is been remembered in crucial times.

Ref.to .post 5 : Its non other than SHANKAR JAIKISHAN a betaaj baadsha among all music directors.This team has introduce mix ragaas in such a
manner that they become trend setter and that trend was/is/will remain till film industries exist.
Naushad on other hand was master of classical ragaas and used it its exteme purely but failed in the commercially popularity wise in mix raags.

Song is good. I had got this song from a frd of mine- chander ji.. but tht one was original one……the one from 70s. so Quality was bit down. but still I liked the lyrics. Rafi saab as usual is great. Since many of us are hearing it first time after years , so might not like as other patriotic songs of rafi. like kar chale hum fida, aye watan etc. but considering tht, this song came much early then all these patriotic songs, carries alot of weight. Llyrics are really very good. compostion is also good . but this recording looks like a resung song.??? not the one from 62 ! ( can any one clarify !)
