20. Ye kiski aankhonka noor ho tum ye kiska dilka quraar ho tum-Film Pakiza-M D Gulam Mohammad. This song was not included in the film. You can experience a matured voice of Rafi and different music style in this song, I include this song in Rafi’s top ten.

I echo the sentiments of all the admirers of Rafisahab and request everyone to vote.
Rafisahab is the only legend of 1950s, 1960s who is leading the poll. Stars of his period are all trailing.
For example in the composers category Shankar Jaikishan is at No. 2 position behind AR Rehman, RD Burman is No. 3. Naushad Ali at No.4.
In the actors category Dilip Kumar is at No. 4 and Raj Kapoor at No. 5. Shahrukh Khan is leading that category.
It would be great if Rafisahab wins by huge margin. At the same time it will also be great if some of the personalities with whom Rafisahab had worked leads their category like Diilip Kumar and Shankar Jaikishan.

the cnn-ibn channel ‘instead’ could have gone to a few auditoriums where mohd rafi hits are being sung by today singers.

The poll results for Rafi saab are even more noteworthy if you consider the fact that no other personality is at the top if he/she has not been active in the last 20 years. That is a remarkable feat! The poll is biased because it highly favours recency; if this poll was conducted in the 45-75 year age group, I have no doubt about who had have captured the maximum number of votes across all categories. But we should be happy and proud that even 33 years after he left us, he remains the most revered singer in the country.
Friends, I have one request. When you vote for Rafi saab, please vote for Shankar Jaikishan too. It breaks my heart to see that they are trailing A. R. Rahman by so many votes. What your vote will accomplish is to make sure that the “bada natkhat” boy (who is currently at 3rd position) doesn’t overtake them. And vote for Sahir, who is trailing both Gulzar and Javed Akhtar! Can’t believe that Shailendra is trailing Anand Bakshi. I guess the present generation hasn’t heard of Sahir, Shailendra or Majrooh.
In the female singer category, Maharani is at the top, which is not surprising. But I can’t believe that Shreya Ghoshal is so far ahead of Monica darling. What happened? All the FM channels are busy playing her and Kishore’s songs tuned by her late husband over and over, but still folks are not voting for her. Very sad, indeed.

when i visited the first time the site on thursday or friday
the leading was like this : Sonu nigham 1057,kishore 867
and rafi saab with 641.at that time lataji was leading with
around 1300 votes.
it was shocking.i had a dream rafi saab’s lead should cover
even lataji.it come true!!!!!!!!
the way rafi saab have been treated by the critics is too much.

I’m glad that Rafi Saheb has overtaken Lata on this poll already, and he fully deserves it. Rafi & Lata both had incredible voices, but Rafi had the range and versatility that Lata could only dream of, and most of their musical contemporaries of that era considered Rafi Saheb to be the greatest singer of them all, male or female.

Dear Rafi Loyalists, please do not fret if Sonu Nigam wins. Don’t you see that our love for him has blinded us. Sonu is a bigger singer than Kishore, Mukesh, and all his other peers and rivals just like Shreya Goshal is a bigger name than Asha who was always a thorn in her sister’s side. People who vote for Lata, are voting for Sonu? Hmmn, does that make any sense? Even if our Rafi Sahib does not win, give him credit, and be kind to Sonu because a clone needs encouragement, especailly such a fickle clone. Apparently Rafi Sahib did not do a very good job, that’s why poor Sonu had to re-sing the maestro’s songs, tsk tsk. History will forget Sonu, Karan, and all the other riff raff because of their disposable ware. Brother Binu, why should Sonu retire? We don’t want his favour or martyrdom. He does not rule our hearts. In fact Rafi Sahib and his peers should retire from this orchestrated contest. Is it worth his stature to win by a few votes. What you are alluding to is absolutely right that it’s unfair on the greatest legend Rafi Saheb to be pitted against somebody
as inferior as Sonu Nigam. However, we know that Sonu Nigam will not withdraw from the polling, so the best thing for you and other Rafi
fans is just to keep voting via missed calls at 08082807871 and via Facebook votes, and Rafi Saheb should win this easily at the end of the day.

History will never ‘forgive’ rajdeep sardesai of cnn ibn channel along with the foreign channel historyindia channel and Karan Johar – if they are trying to bring and name sonu nigam the biggest singer of last 100 years of bollyowood.
every one in the industry know ‘how’ sonu nigam was reared by an interested person to become a bollywood singer.
but, alas today he is best known as a Mohd Rafi clone inspite of efforts to pump him up as a great singer.
in the recent dharmendra film ‘jat yamla pagla diwana” dharmendra wanted to have the orgininal mohd rafi song in the movie.
due to copyright issues, the original could not be taken and sonu sang the second version.
which song is remembered friends today . Only the original song . many have written how the second version was murdered……..
it will be crying shame if anyone other than mohd rafi saaheb is named the biggest singer of last 100 years dear mohd rafi fans.

I think binuji can do a lot by contacting the rafi foundations
all over India.I have sent sms as much as I can and contacted
few rafians of hyderabad,chennai,ahmedabad,mumbai,bangalore,
cochin,calicut,trissur etc.
it is a golden chance to have the number one position for
rafi saab.while voting was doing for the the greatest indian
after mahatma gandhi all have worked hard to vote for rafi
saab and the result was the 12th position rafi saab got in that
