31^st July is amidst us. It was on this day, Rafisaab left all of us for heavenly abode. Media has started to pay tributes to him. Few days back a Gujarati daily in Mumbai, “Mumbai Samachar” had published an article in which musician Dilip Dholakia has narrated his association and experiences with Rafisaab. While Dilip Dholakia has independently given in few Hindi films in name of D. Dilip, he worked as assistant with Chitragupta and Lakshmikant Pyarelal. Mysore, July 18 (VS&MTY)- A musical programme, ‘Pushpanjali’, ‘Geetanjali’ has been organised in memory of renowned singer late Mohammed Rafi at Jaganmohan Palace on July 20 at 6 pm. In the age of nasal singers, the heart longs to listen to Mohammad Rafi once again. Remembering the superstar singer in the run-up to his anniversary. More than a quarter century ago, the golden voice of Mohammad Rafi fell silent. The gentleman-singer of Hindi filmdom that had ruled the ’50s and ’60s of Hindi movies like an emperor suddenly called it quits, departing for his heavenly ab ode, leaving millions of his fans dejected.
