True Voice – Mohd Rafi

The following article was brought to my notice when Sharad posted it on MAS. The article has been trimmed down a bit keeping afloat Rafi details. However, anyone interested can go visit the source at http://tfmpage.com/forum/4980.6302.04.57.19.html

I am Swaminatha Iyer and I am 78 years old. I hail from Tiruchi and I am a part of music associations in Tiruchi, M’as as well as in West Bengal and Maharashtra.

I think it is wrong to condemn music or artists on either side of Vindhyas. Our Indian music is one of the few which has not been cleaned off by the western music though there has always been a influence. It speaks a lot of the richness of our music. Sometime back director of MTV had said that MTV westernized the music wherever it went but in India , MTV had to be Indianized for it to be accepted. A lot of this credit goes to the Indian film music.

I have been fortunate to have close personal association with Rafi, Sirkali, TMS, Dr. BMK, Kishore, SPB & KJY, PS, Mannadey and the one and only Lata Mangeshkar.

Comparisons are bound to come, but almost every artist or I have met considers Lata to be beyond comparison. Her talents are beyond anyone’s reach. Even Sirkazi used to talk of her singing like a die-hard fan as do countless others.

Now coming to the Rafi-SPB discussion. It might be difficult to convince an South Indian to believe Rafi is the better and at the same time Rafi crowd will never believe any other male singer comes anywhere nearer. There is one more mobile crowd, which is well conversant with Hindi and some south Indian language. Majority of them tilt to either Rafi or Kishore.

During one of my stays in M’as I had stayed with SPB. While talking of true voices he said, I don’t feel like half a singer when listening to Rafi. True voice is not a tech term but many in circle use it. Perfect example would be lata, but to understand consider our own PS who within her range is superb. People who do not have such true voices can never do justice to original. They generally underplay many parts of the song or fake it with bass/superficial singing. True voices make people like Sirkazi, Nusrat Fateh Ali khan, Lata… Inimitable. However since Sirkazi and Nusrat did not have the filmy voices their “real” following is limited to their local arena.

In addition to the true voice if the singer has a very good voice then in “most” cases he/she can better songs of others. It is this combination which makes Rafi stand out among the other male singers. There are many here who seem to have mistaken notions on a good bass and also on high pitch.

Bryan Adams does not require a monster bass in “Summer of 69” to sound real manly. It is the punch which gives that feel and that is decided only by the comfort level in most ranges (that is by what your throat can support). This you CAN never disguise with bass. Since people have talked about lack of manly voice viz. a viz. Rafi it was necessary to bring this point out. I have had the fortune of listening to most singers in studio and some times without a mike, practicing with MD’s.When Lata or Rafi do, the level is so high that people hesitate to even hum. It felt silly to sing in their presence (and it feels silly when someone says his voice isn’t manly).

In RD’s tribute when SPB sang “Aaja Aaja mein hoon” or “Chaand mera dil” it sounded only sweet and lacked punch if you compare with Rafi’s original.

Yesu once told me God has been partial to Rafi. He said “god gift term anavasyamaa romba common aa ippo use aardu”.. but idu Rafi kee thaan 100% porundu”. This person could sing “as intricately as a lady without sounding thin”, “cover any mood”, “versatility odey perfect example Rafi”. Yesu said most important is the comfort level over ranges which makes you feel God has been partial to Rafi. (But Of course in Rafi’s early career (1950’s) the voice was relatively feeble).

To people exposed to Rafi’s talent, these or any amount of praise can only seem less. I just wish he was alive and you people could get a live chance to hear him. Probably you can get hold of the DD album for the Geet Gaata Chal series where the first four episodes were dedicated to Rafi. Rafi is on camera singing “O Duniya Ke Rakwaaley” and many other songs. If you see and hear the last part you will realize why SPB said “impossible”. I think particularly those people who have talked about scales w.r.t Rafi should see this album. Its a known fact in industry that Rafi ruled high pitch and there is no male singer better in switching notes so easily. There are artists who can go beyond but then they sound strained or they don’t have pleasant voices when they venture into those territories.

Many singers of today are his compulsive followers. But they end up inheriting only part of his quality. Md. Aziz ended up with a sad voice. Mahendra Kapoor with a thick nasal voice. Anwar with a nasal voice. Sonu Nigam with a feminine voice. Rafi neither had a soft voice nor a heavy (bass) voice he had a good voice. Importantly did not strain at high notes, and voice if at all only became better at higher notes. If you see him singing it will remind you of Janaki. However diff the song is or the note is he will be smiling and singing. It is unthinkable that he cannot sing something.

There seems to be lot of talk about “Shankara Bharanamo” song. SPB has sung many a great numbers and things being said about this song in this forum are rather amusing, particularly b’cos 3 out of 4 people who can be called as singers will be able sing it and at least one out of 10 will sing it with the same effect. There are lot of other songs of SPB where this great singer has played with songs in total control. You will find most south Indian singers who have had a good exposure say that it is beneficial to learn Hindustani as it gives better breath control and improves expression.

Rafi was not only able to glide over a song, the important thing was that he could express each word/sound when singing. It is one thing to hold your breath, start and reach a crescendo (high note), as like in “Shankara”, “Anbey (Yennai kaan villaye)” it is different ballgame if you have to do it from low notes or suddenly switch notes. With practice the former can be done, latter requires a special gift. Rafi had a natural ability to do the latter. In “Tum joh mil gaye ho” there is such a transition in the “karwaan mil gaya” part. I have never seen anyone do justice to most of his songs in my life time. In “parda hai parda” quawaali the similar part is “kar doon to, Akbar mera naam”. In fact most of his songs will have these specialty as it was his natural ability to sing freely in a wide range at the same time giving that extra expression.

Whereas SPB takes us to heavens with “Idu oru pon maali”,”Ilaya nila” “bisiladarenu”(kannada), when he sings Rafi’s song it lacks the punch or expression, though it has the bass. But at least most agree that SPB does some justice to original, whereas most others murder the original.

One trivial point I would like to add is that singing in Hindi is harder. There are more “JHA”,”CHA”,”HA”,”THA”, “KHA”,”JA”,”FA”. These take away the breath faster. The more expressive you are the more air you are using up. Just singing from Nabhi will not help, your throat also needs to do a lot, for singing in Hindi, Bengali etc. SPB makes you fall in love with his south Indian songs but same cannot be said about his Hindi songs. If you just glide through words having these sounds, you will never be expressive. Doing this as well as reaching high notes is not easy. Rafi had this gift and that’s why it is difficult to imagine anyone else in his shoes. Song “Chalkaaye jaam” has so much expression that it is unthinkable how anyone can sing it. When Rafi switches to a high note with “Mitwaa” in the song “Chaahunga mein tughey” you cannot replicate it with bass. Most others will sound as if they are shouting in such cases. That man’s throat had the ability to freely sing at such levels.

Versatility is not just the ability to sing in various styles, more important is how good you are singing in those styles. You have lot of Ghazal singers today but when Rafi sings a Ghazal you will sit up and take notice. You don’t have to be part of the Ghazal listeners crowd. This is one important aspect. Whatever style you sing you should be able to pull the common man to listen and not just a particular crowd. Pick “parda hai parda” or any qawalli and it will stand tall among other qawalli’s.

Variety is amazing :

songs of Guru Dutt’s Khagaz key phool or songs like abhi naa jao chod key, Aaja teri yaad aayi, Aaj kal mein dhal gaya, Aaj kal terey merey pyaar, Aasmaan sey aaya farishta, Dil ney pyaar kiya hai, Deewana mujh saa nahi, Din dhal jaaye, Duniya paagal hai, Jaane walon jara, Dil joh na kaha saka, Dil key jharokon mein, Dil kaa bhavar, Chalkey teri aakkhon sey, Kar chaley hum fida, khilona jaan kar tum, Woh jab yaad aay, Woh hain jara khafa, Vaadian mera daaman, Pathar key sanam, Chaand mera dil, Main zindagi kaa saath, Mainey poocha chaand sey, sun sun jaalima, Koi jab raah na paay, hum to chaley pardes, badan pey sitaarey, laal chadi maidaan, Tum jo mil gaye, O meri shaahey, Sau baar janam lengey, Tum mujhey yoon bhula, Tumney mujhey dekha, Terey merey sapney, Tumny pukaara hum chaley aay

Name a situation/mood and Rafi’s song will be there on the top.

Yes, I also agree. Ghantasala was of course an exception. The song chal ud ja re panchi by rafi in the film bhabhi was sung subsequently by ghantasala in telugu as paya ninche o chiluka and it is more beautiful and melodious than rafi himself. Rafi himself complimented ghantasala for the same. Same is the case in the song in suvarna sundari film which rafi could not sing on par with ghantasala. Any way it is a pleasure to hear both singers.

  2. vasu says:

The author has well written about noted singers but it is submitted with respect that he has missed the great golden singer of the south viz., Ghantasala, the man with golden majestic voice and who was admired by Rafi himself. No doubt it can be stated with certainty if we carefully read the above article ghantasala becomes an exception as compared to other singers.

I do not want to defame kishor kumar as he is the favourite of my
favourite Devanand, but I wonder how these ashu/ashwin can love and respect him whileas his own son Amit Kumar did not respect him from his heart ? Can you love/respect your father if he leaves your mother in half
a way in the journey of life and marries a charming lady (like madhubala).
No, you will never respect your own father. Then how these ashu/ashwin
can love/respect a man who gave pain to a faithful lady like anuradha guha ?

  11. Ref post 438: Thanks to all of you and mr.anmol to give us detailed dialogs with music director Pyarelal ji.
A clean collar person like Rafiji is always less talked.I think Rafiji was a ‘antarmukhi’ type of person & shy person and thats why he liked to be lowprofile. So we are not getting more information of his other side of personality.

  12. Mahender says:

With due respect to everybody in the forum, I think before saying anybody else is better than Rafi Saab, we should listen to the songs that Rafi saab sang for Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh and Dev Anand. Can anybody else sing for Dilip Kumar, Rajender Kumar, Shammi Kapoor?
O Sherovali…, 18 baras ki tu…., Itna to yaad hai mujhe….., Yun hi tum mujhse baat karti ho……, Kabhi khud pe……., and so on and on and on…Rafi saab has sung such beautiful songs for Amitabh, Rajesh Khanna….and these songs will be listened for generations to come.
No point comparing Rafi Saab with anybody.
And I read somebody saying that Rafi saab didn’t have work until 1976..just go and listen songs of Aaya Sawan Jhoom Ke, Aap Aaye Bahar Aayi, Pratigya, Jugnu, Charas, Dost, Haste Zakhm, Gora aur Kala, Hathi Mere Sathi,………………………………

A meeting with the Music Legend Pyarelal (LP)

A few days back I along with other Rafi fans Mr. Binu Nair & Kishore Maqwana got an opportunity to meet the music maestro Pyarellal Ji. It was a memorable moment to meet a music icon who along with late Laxmikant ruled the music world for almost 3 decades.

Pyarelall Ji is very simple & down to heart by nature who would always love to meet music lovers with a truthful heart. He is always eager to meet his fans who love to talk about music. The conversation starts with Mr. Binu Nair who primarily the man after the promotion of Rafi foundation which would be publishing a magazine for music lovers in the near future. Pyarelal Ji was quiet impressed by the idea of promoting writing and articles of various music lovers.

We being Rafi fans our main focus of meeting was get more information on the mestro. I discussed with Pyarelal Ji that I have never seen or Rafi Saab but desire is still there. Pyarelal Ji said if this is the case than I will bring Rafi Saab in front of you. Pyarelal Ji described Rafi Saab’s style, the way he use to talk. He always talked with every one with his head bend and eyes pointing downwards. He use to speak very less and had great respect for every one. He had a liking of bringing special tea prepared with almonds in a huge thermal flask during the recording. Only his special favorites would get a share. Myself and Laxmikant Ji were one of the lucky ones. These words of Pyarelal Ji brought a great fulfillment within me, realizing that his contemporaries are as great as him.

Pyarelal Ji highlighted Rafi Saab’s secular attitude stating, during Id festival he would distribute Biryani and Siwaiyan to his friends and colleagues irrespective to the religion they belonged. But would wish “ID Mubaarakh” only to his Muslim collegues. Stating his own example Pyarelal Ji said that Rafi Saab’s person would come to his flat with the Biryani and Sivayna. Pyarelal Ji would say thanks to Rafi Saab (sitting in his car) standing in his balcony by joining both his hands. In other words Rafi Saab was very particular on beliefs and religious sentiments of his colleagues and contemporaries belonging to other faiths. Another aspect which he highlighted was for the song from “Gopi”, ‘Sukh Ke Sab Sathi Dukh Mein Koi’. Pyarelal Ji said that here both Dilip Kumar & Rafi Saab are Muslims the one who is performing on screen and the one who is actually singing the song. There is so much Namrata in Rafi Saab’s voice and Dilip Saab’s performance on screen that one cannot make out whether both are Muslim or Hindu.

Apart from Rafi Saab, Pyarelal Ji spoke very high of Kishore Da and Mukesh Ji as well. Especially about Mukesh he said and Mukesh sang less number of songs compared to Rafi and Kishore, but maximum of his songs were hit. Pyarelal Ji also expressed their love for the legendary music composers Shanker-Jaikishan. In fact they (LP) were reluctant in accepting the music composition for the film ‘Bobby’. They were of the opinion the even if Jaikishan Ji had passed way then; still Shankar Ji should compose the music. Finally Raj Kapoor Saab insisted on LP, in turn LP insisted that the music release of ‘Bobby’ should be through the hands of music composer Shankar Ji. It happened exactly like that. That was one of the proud moments for LP.

As the conversation goes ahead he said he will be making a comeback very soon to bring back the old glory. Then we listened to one of his songs possibly sung by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik in which 105 musicians where also performing. Listening to the song we said even with modern music also the old rhythm signifying the LP trademark can be very easily witnessed.

Pyarelal Ji is very positive even with today’s music. He asked our opinion on today’s music. I said that though for a few songs tunes are good but they are not memorable or ever lasting like the ones from the golden era. Pyarelal Ji said its true some improvement is needed plus the songs are memorable from the golden era because there was no cable TV or video at that time where one could watch 4 to 5 films in a day. When we watch so many films in one day the value of good work gets over shadowed, something which is happening in present era. Perhaps we can say that Pyarelal Ji positive attitude was one of the main factors behind their success. No wonder he along with Laxmikant Ji gave the best music in all times. Pyarelal Ji said that he feels that his partner Laxmikant Ji is very never him when he composes tunes even today.

Pyarelal Ji is not happy the way present day music competitions are conducted, stating that the judges are unnecessarily putting pressure or making needless comments on the young performers. He said many established singers commit mistakes or go off key during recordings. In other he is against judges on being too harsh on the young performers.

Finally whether I met Rafi Saab or not, but my meeting with Pyarelal Ji made me feel his present taking me back to the golden era for a few moments.

  14. Dear Binuji,

An intresting note i read in todays gujarati paper by Ashok Dave on a singer called Master Madan . Master madan was a god gifted singer from Dist.Jullandar(Khanekhana)born on 28th dec.1927.At the age of 9 he sang many classical songs and in audience even who were unknown about classically based song were also get mad -and fan after his strength voice, and class style of “murky” he weaved in his songs . Not only that even K.L.Saigal himself praise for this little master madan openly and people who were once fan of saigal, pankaj malik,or malika pokhraj, kanan devi,or begum para switched over to master madan and that also at his little age.The music masters of that era were admitted and sayed that if master madan could have survive more and not died at the early age of 12 saigal would have at the no.2 position on that time.
    Master madan’s songs:
1.Bata muje o jahan ke malik,ye kya nazare dikha raha he,tere samandar me kya kami thi,ke aadmi ko rula raha hey.

2.chet na hey to chet le mushkil me hey prani,

3.gori gori baiyan shyam sundar meri chod de,

    4. herat se tak raha hey jahane wafa muje,

    5. bhanwara re hum pardesi log,

    6. Mori binati mano re kanha,

    7.raavi de palle kandheve mitra,(Punjabi)

    8. yun na rahe rahe kar hume tarsaiye, aaiye aa jaiyie aa jaiyie.

    9. vandan hey sharda naman karoo.

10.Bagan vich pinga pahiyan, rahen daa hey dil da chor,(Punjabi)

11.man ki man me hi rahi,na hari bhajio na tirath gayo.

If any one has above songs kindly do contact.

  15. Dear Rafi fans,

Rafi has a magic voice , by his vocal strength he spread his versatility and mesmerized from baby boy to old age persons. He had god gifted vocal power and he had a wonderful ability to mould any songs keeping in mind to whom it is going to be picturised so when we were use to listen his songs on radio in old days we were able to say who is the main lead of film and to .without knowing much abt.star-cast of the film.
Really it is something amazing. No one in singingin is as versatile as our rafi

    Dear friends !
yes, i remember the event when kishor kumar converted himself into
a muslim…..not because of his faith and respect towards “Islam”, but
for his luxury. Madhubala convinced him for this as she was the most
    beautiful lady on those days.
just for a woman kishor kumar left his religion and changed his “GOD”.
Just after madhubala’s untime demise he again weded yogitabali and then
leena chandawarkar…..as if changing wievs is as easy as changing the

    DEAR MUSIC LOVERS,
IT IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT THAT WHAT IS LATAJI TO FEMALE PLAYBACK SINGING RAFI SAHAB IS TO MALE PLAYBACK SINGING IN THIS BOLLYWOOD MUSIC INDUSTRY.
ALL OTHER SINGERS ARE MUCH AFTER THESE TWO GREATEST LEGEND.
YES RAFI SAHB IS A TRUE VOICE. IF SOME OTHERS LIKE ASHWIN THINKS OTHERWISE THEN HE IS LIVING LIKE FROGS IN A WELL SYNDROME.
RAFI SAHABS SONGS ARE OCEAN AND I DO NOT THINK ANYONE CAN EXPLORE HIS VASTNESS OF TREASURE IN ONE BIRTH. MAY BE WE CAN GET ABOUT 60% OF COLLECTIONS ONLY IF WE TRY COLEECTING FROM OUR SCHOOL DAYS TILL OUR DEATH.

I’m actually stuck in a rut at this present moment of time, due to copyright infringement laws… where basically you need full authorisation for distribution of such known material, concerning video footage of the great one. The actual professional convertion centre’s have refused to transfer the original 2 hours and 20 mins of video live footage of the legend in concert, due to piracy strict laws.

Even though if footage of this concert was made available to fans, then what restriction laws do I have… to prevent them from supplying millions of copies of my footage throughout the world. How do I stop these so called greedy scroungers from transfering my rare video footage for their own personal gain, only way out is to ask all fans to sign a disclaimer from prohibiting or selling any material made from my disc for their own financial gain.

Well the good news is that I have recently bought myself a new panasonic dvd recorder for £479.99 over the weekend, and will now transfer the original video of the master onto dvd-r discs. You will also have chance of witnessing the great one on youtube and you will bear witness to my solid efforts, and see for yourselves of what kind of job I have provided. Although if it was done by a professional… then he would have had the privilage of boosting the sound and enhancing the picture quality of the footage.

  30. Hussein Sheikh says:

KK was never best when compared to Rafi Saheb. KKs songs in Sagina and Aap Aaye Bahar Aayee picturised on Dilip Kumar and Rajendra Kumar respectively, were not suited at all for these actors. Rafi Saheb was best in comparing to KK in Doosra Aadmi, Kranti and Amar Akbar Anthony.

  31. Raajkumar Akela says:

    Dear friends !
Sorry to interrupt, but why are you guys giving this much importance
to kishor kumar ? You guys are making him unnecessarily important.
Think twice…think thrice…does he deserve this status ? No, never.
he does not have the potency to be brought near legendary rafi saab.
this is your greatest mistake that you are again and again dragging
late rafi saab in this debate. i do not blame all the kk fans. they are
right on their way. kk is their favourite and let a million years pass…
they are not going to give up. do not highlight raafi saab’s qualities
comparing with kk…and stop defaming kk. rafi saab is no doubt the
greatest singer of this millennium. do not bring kk or yesudas or
    anybody else near him.
kk fans know it very well that rafi saab is far far better than any
other singer, but they are writing against this legend only and only
    to irritate you.
if a begger is shouting at your door, please shut your door and see
after few minutes the beggar will give up and leave your door.
please stop trying to prove rafi saab’s greatness !

    Nadeem mere dost,

Sachhai hamesha kadwi hoti hai, but aap us se bhaag nahi sakte.

Kisi ne Madan Mohan aur Rafi combination ki baat kahi thi.
Let me take u in early 70’s. There was a movie name “SAGINA” dilip kumar was actor. As everybody knows Talat, Mukesh adn then Rafi became Dilip’s playback voice. But Sachinda insisted for Kishore in Sagina and he did a tremendous job. When i watched movie, i felt Dilip Kumar could not justice to his voice.
    1. Saala main to saheb ban gaya
    2. Tum re sang to rain bitayi… with Lata ….Superb Melody

  35. Nadeem says:

Debjyoti@Viswan@Abhishek@kklan@viswan and orher KK fans “Thooko Jitna Aasman Mein Thookna Hai” I t will not effect rafi greatness

  36. ashu says:

Kishore took one rs. less because he respect Lata and in 70’s Kishore was high paid singer.
Madan Mohan insisted for Rafi because it was “Laila Majnu” muslim story and even i think Rafi was best choice, but Kishore could be best. Anyway it was Madan Mohan choice, and i wrote in my earlier blog how musician select singers.

Hope u remember Rajendra Kumar’s Aap aaye bahar aaye..I think u people know Rafi used to sing for Rajendra Kumar but LP select Kishore for “Tum ko bhi to aisa hi kuchh” over Rafi. So boss Its all personal choice and best suits.

  41. Hussein Sheikh says:

Ashu or whatever, KK never sang better than Rafi Saheb, KK was very far behind to Rafi Saheb in singing.

  42. P. Haldar says:

Just a few corrections to what some rafians are saying in the other forum. One of them, sj, has said that roop tera mastana was sung in Bengali by Kishore. as far as I know, it was sung for the Bengali version of the film, which was released after the Hindia version. s. d. burman used to sing his compositions himself in bengali. For both the hindi solos, s. d. had rafi in mind. also, note that shakti samanta had hardly used anyone but Rafi in all his films till then. By the way, is sj the same as sjk in this forum? are sjk and myk doing a jugalbandi? What is sudip’s name on this forum? These people are changing names faster than rafi saab used to change his voice for different heroes!

viswan, I was talking about Yesudas’ diction in Hindi, not in Malayalam. I am sure Yesudas is great, but we can only consider him within the context of hindi film music, not carnatic music. I am sure that there are other forums devoted to carnatic music. Given the number of bengali singers, composers and music directors in bombay, you can bet that there is also a bunch of very talented singers and music directors in Bengal. But this is not the forum for discussing them. We are talking about hindi film music here and if you can compare Yesudas and SPB with Rafi and Kishore based on their hindi songs, that’s perfectly legitimate. It’s possible that carnatic music or, for that matter, turkish music, is richer than hindustani music. But we are talking about hfm; please get that straight.

    Dear Anmol and rafians:

Leave this one kishore fan avi/ashi/avinash… alone……
They carry too many names and venom in their armour.
u know why… they are not honest and honourable men.
    I suggest……
They should retire and go to Khandwa spend their time
at the Kishore Kumar samadhi – and ponder and learn the
qualities of the great singer – instead of wasting their energies
in running down a legend singer and a bigger and noble human
being – shri Mohd Rafi… whom the world will worship for
centuries long after these ashu/ashwin/avi/avinashes vanishes from
    this world.

  44. Anmol Singh says:

    Hi Ashu,

I have a small question for u. On which Raag is KK’s own composition based. For example “Koi Hamdam Na Raha”.

  45. ashu says:

    Mr. Anmol,

Hum bhi wohi hai. I could not get chance to write to u since KISHORE/Rafi Saga stopped. Again i am getting opportunity to get in touch with u.

Aapke jaise aur bhi Jaankar yaha hai jo apne aapko music ke jaankar samjhate hai. 🙂

All the songs which u have mentioned above is kishore’s songs. He dominated 100%.

“Dekh ke tumko dil dola hai…God Promise hum sach bola hai” I like the way he sang. pakka Christian ke tarah gaya hai. Mukesh aur Rafi ne to apne apne dharmo me gaya hai., nothing great. Ek tapori kaisa gata hai, waisa SUR me kishore ne gaay hai and rest Amitabh stolen the show.

“Kya Mousam hai” to lajwab hai. Kishore was fantastic, after him i like Lata’s AALAP. While writing also, i m rendering his songs, what a voice he had.

“CHANA jor Garam” I feel Kishore was great and Nitin Mukesh got great line, If Mukesh had been there then he would be after Kishore.

    Binu Uncle,
Why u always talk abt Khandwa..Kabhi to SULTANPUR ki bhi baat kar liya karo

I know u love Khandwa very much:)

  46. unknow1 says:

    Dear Anmol,
the song Chana Jor Garam I remmber that time i was child i was thinking that is Dilip Kummar is singing the song and I don’t like Dilip Kummar Ji as Actor that time because I loved mr Bachchan but i saw the magic voice of Mohd rafi in this song.
    Dear K fans,
plz compare songs which singed by Anwer and KK u willl see that Anwer singed better than KK and don’t forget u r Rajesh Khanna used Anwer voice in place of KK voice, compare KK with Manny Dey ……

  48. Raajkumar Akela says:

    Hi rafians !
i wonder why you people are peeping in other’s house !
a name_____mohammad rafi is enough for the entire
world’s listners. NO NEED TO go to your neighbour’s
house if you have a beautiful wife at home.
let the opposition bark or bray…do not try to mingle
with them. I am an admirer of the “SUN”
let others be proud of candle…lamp…tube-light !!!

  49. Anmol Singh says:

Hi Ashu/Avi/Ashwini/Shanker (The same person in different names)

Hope u remember me in Rafi-Kishore Saga Blog. So you mean to say that Rafi is a chua in front of KK.

As usual you like many KK fans try to distort historical facts again & again coming with half baked knowledge.

In the following songs u can judge your self who is chua and who is sher.

    1. Dekh Ke Tumko Hum Bola Hai (KK-Mukesh-Rafi-Lata)
    2. Chana Jor Garam (KK-Nitin M-Lata-Rafi)
    3. Kya Mausam Hai (KK-Lata-Rafi)

KK stands no where in the above songs, plus all the songs are from late 70s which always a Rafi era.

    Post 400 : HALDER & FRIENDS:

some people in the society will ask stupid question; its there
in their genes ( abour rafi sounds voice quality ) in the other
    forum..
they dont need any reason for it; nor can they see facts; they
are tuned one way : to ask absurd questions.
they think this is a intelligent thing to do; all fools and morons who
call kishore kumar their and spoil his image and that of khandwa..
to morrow they might as matter of habit ask the facts of their
paternity too.- who knows -its all absurd…. they are already suffering and
now pouring their frustrations on established icons and legends of
    the land
